Discover the story behind Camping Liébana, a place with deep roots and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it truly unique. The Fuente-Gómez family, renowned bakers famous for making the best bread in the region in their traditional wood-fired oven, are the proud owners of the campsite. But their connection to the world of camping goes far beyond just baking.
Since 1975, on the land next to the bakery and the small family-run bar in Puente Asnil, the local parish first, San Francisco, and later the Visitación Scout group of Santander, used to organize summer camps. They gave hundreds of young people from Cantabria the chance to experience nature in its purest form, surrounded by trees and the Bullón River.
Over time, the parish stopped organizing these camps, and that’s when the Fuente-Gómez family saw an opportunity to breathe new life into the land that had hosted so many tents. Like turning an old barn into a cozy home, they transformed the space into Camping Liébana. Here, you’ll find a peaceful, family-friendly environment where comfort is a priority, almost like a warm hug after a long day outdoors.
Come and discover the beauty and tranquility of this special corner. We’ll be waiting for you with open arms!
